The Debtors' Ombudsman represents the interests of debtors and offers them support if applicable. The Debtors' Ombudsman offers free assistance to individuals who have serious difficulties meeting their financial obligations in order to find a balance between financial capacities and financial obligations. If you do not speak English or Icelandic, the Debtors' Ombudsman will cover the cost of an interpreter. The applicant will have to order an interpreter himself but the Debtors' Ombudsman will cover the costs for this service.
